About Acolyte Tech Services

Acolyte is a Catholic-based, veteran-owned IT company in Saint Paul MN

Our Story

Acolyte was built on founder Hunter Alden’s decade of hands-on experience across many areas of IT. Rather than stacking fees service by service, Acolyte uses an all-inclusive pricing model and works with each customer so they know exactly what they’re getting, and exactly what they’re paying for.

The company is grounded in Catholic morality. That means fair treatment, clear communication, and excellent service for every client we serve.

About the Founder

Hunter began his professional career by enlisting in the Minnesota Army National Guard following high school, serving as a Fire Direction Control Specialist in a field artillery unit based in Fairmont, Minnesota. During his military career, he completed a combat deployment to the Middle East. He subsequently earned a degree in Computer Information Technology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and graduated from Officer Candidate School in the top third of his class.

Following his commissioning, Hunter initially served in the Cyber branch before transitioning to the Signal Corps, where he led a technical support team within the Minnesota National Guard's Division G6. He concluded his military service with an honorable discharge.

Professionally, Hunter brings a decade of experience in information technology, specializing in IT operations, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and enterprise networking. His work has included assessing and modernizing IT environments, designing organization-wide systems, and implementing network infrastructure involving servers, switches, firewalls, routers, wireless networks, and remote access solutions. He has also established technology standards across multiple locations, developed technical documentation and network diagrams, and created long-term IT strategies to support organizational growth and operational efficiency.

Hunter founded Acolyte Tech Services with a commitment to American workers, domestic job creation, and providing businesses with dependable, locally managed IT support. Frustrated by the growing reliance on overseas outsourcing and foreign labor programs such as H-1B, he sought to build a company that invests in American technical talent and keeps its services and employment opportunities within the United States.

Acolyte is proudly an America First, Catholic-owned company, guided by principles of integrity, accountability, fairness, and service. These values are reflected in its business practices, including straightforward, all-inclusive pricing, transparent billing, and a commitment to never charging customers for services that were not rendered. Rather than billing for every individual account or imposing unnecessary additional fees, Acolyte structures its managed IT pricing around the actual number of employees a business supports. The company is committed to American-based staffing and does not outsource its technical support overseas or rely on H-1B labor.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Hunter lives in Minnesota with his wife and son. He enjoys powerlifting, operates a small candle-making business, Alden Candles, and volunteers at his local church.

Through Acolyte, Hunter combines extensive technical experience with the discipline and accountability developed during his military service and the moral principles of his Catholic faith. His goal is to establish lasting relationships with clients by delivering reliable IT services, honest recommendations, responsive support, and fair pricing. He believes that a business should be able to trust its IT provider to act in its best interests, recommend only what is necessary, and charge fairly for the work performed.
